The Odyssey was written down sometime around 800 BC, and in 2017, Emily Wilson became the first woman to translate it into English. Wilson is a badass, her introduction is fascinating, and her translation infinitely better than whatever awkward version I was assigned in college. Odysseus, what a complicated guy!
